What ages do you work with? How do I know my son is ready?

13-25 years old. My clients are generally teenagers, but these days, adolescence often extends well into the 20s, and I am available to support a young man in his early- and mid-twenties.If he’s on the younger side, he's ready if he’s earnestly entered puberty, begun to ask deep questions, and/or displays sustained resistance behaviors as a form of differentiation from the family. If you're not sure if your son is ready, I'd be happy to learn more about him and decide if this is the right time to begin working together.

No, I am not a licensed therapist and I do not diagnose or treat clinical mental health conditions.Coaching focuses on growth, identity, and practical life navigation—building self-awareness, accountability, and confidence in everyday decisions. While therapy often treats underlying psychological distress or trauma, my mentorship practice offers a steady, dynamic relationship with an adult outside the family who can support him, challenge him, and help him figure out who he wants to be.If a young man is dealing with a mental health challenge that requires clinical care, I will say so directly. Mentorship can complement therapy seamlessly, but it does not replace it.

How are parents involved, and what is your confidentiality policy?

Trust is the foundation of this work. For a young man to open up, he needs to know our sessions are a private space. At the same time, parent alignment is crucial for lasting change.Confidentiality: What your son shares with me stays between us, with three clear exceptions: mandatory reporting (abuse, self-harm, or imminent violence to self or others), a court subpoena, or if he explicitly asks me to share something with you. I walk through these boundaries with every client before we begin deep work together.
Parent Support: Parents can schedule optional 1:1 strategy calls with me as needed. During these calls, I don't disclose session details. Instead, we focus on the changes you’re noticing at home, your own experience navigating this stage of parenting, and how to best support his growth.

How long will we work together?

Mentorship is structured around multi-session packages to ensure we have the consistency needed to build trust and achieve meaningful progress.Focused Engagements: Clients can start with a standard package (typically 2 to 6 months) designed to address a specific transition, challenge, or set of goals.
Ongoing Relationships: Because the transition into adulthood spans several (or many) years, clients will also have the option to transition into an ongoing relationship, maintaining a steady connection through the high school years, the college transition, and beyond.
